Did I Mention We Are Moving?

I thought I had posted this already, but I guess I had just put it on Facebook. Well, we are moving! We are moving down to King's Books! *fly* is going to take over the rare book room. It will be cozy, but great!

The address at King's Books is: 218 Saint Helens Avenue, Tacoma WA 98402

I am in the process of moving right now. I hope to be open Friday evening at 7pm for the Beautiful Angle Party. I may even be open Friday during the day? More likely I will still be setting up.

I will have regular hours after that.

Thank you for your continued support!

There is a tree lighting at Pantages at 6pm.

And yes, we are still at 904 Broadway. The place is smelling ok. Still planning on moving next week. Stay tuned!

Passing Time

I haven't been posting because things are just up in the air. The shop, although clean, again smells smoky and awful. Subway sits, undemolished, waiting.

I may be moving. Where, you ask? I am not sure. When? Again, unsure. But I do hope to be open by November 18th or 19th.

This is quite frustrating. In the meantime, enjoy these photos:

These are some of the great people who have work at fly! They will be at the next Tacoma is for Lover's Artist Craft Fair. November 13th and 14th from 11-4. It will be at King's Books, 218 Saint Helens Avenue
Tacoma, WA 98402, www.kingsbookstore.com

There will be about 20 crafters every day, a Santa photobooth and an auction to benefit King's Books! Yay!

Trick Art Treat on October 28

The new round of Spaceworks Tacoma art installations is up and running, and downtown looks smokin’! We’re celebrating with Trick Art Treat, on Thursday, Oct. 28, 5 – 7pm. You can stop by each of our participating sites for a full serving of art. Attend a screening of Isaac Olsen‘s full-length feature, Quiet Shoes, starring local actors – and a noirish T-town. Take an open-air tour of the fantastic  exhibits at the F.W. Woolworth Building and adjacent installation sites. Up your culture quotient with a performance by Tacoma’s own Shakespeare in the Parking Lot. Take a whack at a witty, gritty Tacoma piñata by Cheryl Rux and Nichole Vandever (you really won’t want to destroy it). Lust over renegade crafts, exquisite letterpress stationery, indie fashion and statement jewelry at fly and Chiffon. Find out what our Northwest creative talents are doing in music, film and photography. Our Facebook page has a complete listing of events and locations. More news coming soon!

Not the Best News Ever

Hi friends. *fly* will be closed for a few days. Subway had to go and have a fire and share the smoke with us. The store is really stinky, and we are still assessing the damage. Stay posted and we will re-open as soon as we can.

And even if the store isn't open Thursday the 28th (which it probably won't be), we will be there, outside, for Trick Art Treat (http://spaceworkstacoma.wordpress.com/2010/10/16/trick-art-treat-on-october-28/)
